Privacy Policy

Introduction

Uuumi ("we", "our", "us") is a screen time management app with a virtual pet, operated by Jan Podmolík. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

If you have any questions, contact us at info@uuumi.app.

Information we collect

Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — provided directly or through Sign in with Apple / Google
  • Authentication data — securely managed by our backend provider (Supabase)

If you use Sign in with Apple, you can choose to hide your real email address.

App data synced to the cloud

To enable cross-device sync and backup, we store the following on our servers:

  • Pet information (name, evolution history, daily stats)
  • Screen time goals and limit settings
  • Aggregated usage statistics (total daily usage, hourly summaries)
  • Break history (duration, type, completion)
  • Coin balance and unlocked content
  • User preferences and settings

Data that stays on your device

The following data is never sent to our servers:

  • Names of specific apps, websites, or categories you use
  • Individual app usage data and tokens from Screen Time / Family Controls
  • Detailed per-app screen time breakdowns

We only sync aggregated usage totals — we never know which specific apps you use or for how long.

Analytics

We use PostHog to collect product analytics, such as which features are used, purchase events, and app lifecycle events. PostHog runs on the EU instance (eu.posthog.com), so analytics events are processed and stored within the European Union. Events are tied to your account ID once you sign in; before sign-in they are tied to an anonymous device-generated identifier.

We do not use session replay, screen recording, or heatmaps. We do not track you across other apps or websites. You can opt out of analytics at any time in Profile → Privacy within the app.

Purchases

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. We only receive confirmation of your subscription or purchase status from Apple.

How we use your data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Uuumi app and its core features
  • Sync your progress across devices
  • Process and manage your subscription
  • Improve the app through product analytics
  • Respond to your support requests or feedback

Third-party services

The Uuumi mobile app uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — authentication and cloud data storage
  • PostHog (EU) — product analytics, processed within the European Union
  • Apple (Sign in with Apple, StoreKit) — authentication and in-app purchase / subscription processing
  • Google (Sign in with Google) — authentication when you choose Google as your sign-in method

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. The mobile app does not contain any advertising networks, tracking pixels, or third-party advertising SDKs.

Advertising and tracking

The Uuumi mobile app does not use the device's advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The privacy manifest distributed with the app reflects this (no tracking declared).

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your account record and all linked personal data — including pets, settings, coin balance, and aggregated usage history — are permanently removed from our servers via cascading database deletion.

Any feedback or support messages you previously submitted are retained in anonymized form (with your user identifier removed) so that we can continue improving the App. Local data on your device is cleared upon sign-out.

Data security

We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (TLS), row-level security policies on our database, and secure authentication flows. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Children's privacy

Uuumi is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct any inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing of your data
  • Export your data (data portability)
  • Withdraw consent at any time

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app (Profile → Delete Account). For any other requests, email us at info@uuumi.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Notifications

Uuumi uses local notifications only — they are generated on your device and never pass through our servers. We do not use push notification services. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings at any time.

This website (uuumi.app)

The marketing website at uuumi.app is separate from the mobile app and uses Google Tag Manager to load analytics and marketing tags subject to your consent. We use Google Consent Mode v2: by default, analytics, advertising, and personalization cookies are denied until you make a choice in the cookie banner.

The cookie categories are:

  • Necessary — basic site functionality such as theme preference. Always on.
  • Analytics — helps us understand how visitors use the site.
  • Marketing — used for advertising measurement and remarketing on third-party platforms.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the "Cookie Settings" link in the site footer. Your choice is stored locally in your browser. The mobile app is not affected by website cookie settings.

Governing law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also retain all rights granted to you under the GDPR or UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
